Under the pen name 'micro.be', my work is inspired by a curious fascination in my heritage, my obsessions and discovering different ways to use mediums through the power of mash-up and amalgamation. No matter how distant and abstract two concepts seem, there will always be a correlation somehow with the right angle; my vision is to create a lens of collaboration to focus my interests together and provide a unique interpretation of the world around me.
Hailing from a small town in the San Francisco Bay Area, my artistry has a humble beginning from just casual fandom posts from a young teenager; but after pursuing a degree in Media Arts and Animation and newfound knowledge of online presence, further exploration in both theme and medium alike mold my current image as a byproduct of honing illustration.
I incorporate an ancient alphabet known as Baybayin. Influences to my style include growing up with shōnen manga such as Watsuki's Rurouni Kenshin, Takahashi's Yu-Gi-Oh! and Yabuki's Black Cat; however, lately I frequent Instagram and have been interested by artists on there as well.
Outside of sketching and animation, pastimes of mine include trading card games, collecting CD albums, cooking various cuisines with a penchant for experimentation, and recreational dance.
